Metal Fireplace Grills by Cathy Azria for Indoors and Outside
Cathy Azria is a metal sculptor who has taken her innate ability to create unique abstract 3D forms to the next level by producing something functional without compromising her artistic aesthetic. Cathy’s metal fireplace grills can be adapted for both indoors and outside in either small or large-scale dimensions.
Indoor Metal Fireplace Grills
Bonfire is welded to look like twigs stacked to make a bonfire, and when the fire is lit the imagery is complete.
Loop the Loop is a fun Cathy Azria design. Completely modern it works beautifully with bio ethanol or gas fireplaces.
Like tall skyscrapers these metal fireplace grills are called Metropolis.
These sculptural metal fireplace grills are called Moon.
The Wigwam metal fireplace grills would be just as happy outside as it is indoors.
Coil really looks like a giant spring.
I like the haphazard look of Loop, completely asymmetrical and totally balanced. It reminds me of my scribbles when I can’t get a pen to work.
Cathy Azria designed Off the Loop to look like it was falling out of the fireplace.
The Nest design acts like a basket to hold the burning logs, stopping them from rolling out of the fire while at the same time cradling them with an artistic sense of pick up sticks.
Planes looks like a series of flat wood pieces stacked like kindling. It reminds me of all the wood scraps from our shop we give to friends for kindling.
Which way do you prefer Springs to be installed – randomly or vertically? The vertical ones look like smoke stacks.
Triangles has a lift off or crashing down aesthetic, these metal fireplace grills are grounded on one end and free floating on the other.
These metal fireplace grills definitely look like Sea Urchins – hence the name Urchin.
Outdoor Metal Fireplace Grills
Firepit and Nest make great compact outdoor fireplaces, perfect for a small backyard.
There is nothing small about these Bonfire metal fireplace grills, at least not in these applications.
The soft organic loops of Loop offer the perfect contrast to the geometry of this outdoor fireplace.
These Loops are set on top of fire bowls and are probably my favourite. They have an almost plant like aesthetic.
Planes adds a geometric aesthetic to these two outdoor fireplaces. Which do you prefer, the naturally rusted look of the one on the left or the matte black finish of the one on the right?
